Your Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) is your unique reference for all government services in Ireland — Revenue, HSE, social welfare, driver licence, and more. Keep it secure and use it when accessing any public service.
LPT returns and payments are due annually. The filing deadline is typically in November, with payment options including annual lump sum, quarterly, or monthly direct debit. The tax applies to all residential properties.
Cars aged 4-10 years need an NCT every 2 years. Cars over 10 years need it annually. New cars are first tested at 4 years. Book early — failing to have a valid NCT is an offence and can affect insurance.
Renew online via Passport Online (fastest, cheapest). Adult renewal: €75 online. Processing: 2-3 weeks standard, 1-2 working days urgent (additional fee). Children's passports valid 5 years, adults 10 years.
€140 per month per child. Paid for children under 16 (or under 18 if in full-time education). Register birth with HSE — Child Benefit is then auto-enrolled. Report changes (child leaves education, moves abroad) promptly.
